However, with the right tools, builders can be used to build complex sites with a variety of features, and that’s exactly what Oxygen Builder is designed for. The homepage also gives you a quick introduction into the main features that make Oxygen a powerful page builder, as well as a brief look at what makes it different from some of the other page builders on the market.
Before we get into our Oxygen review, let’s talk about the benefits and drawbacks of the builder and the organization that operates it. All of this information is based on my personal experience with the product and testing.
Oxygen is a powerful page builder, but it comes with a high learning curve that should not be overlooked. Even so, if you can grasp it, it can be one of your most powerful WordPress plugins. It’s a fantastic page builder with a few tiny cautions for future users.
Let’s take a closer look at why Oxygen is a good option for you as a page builder. It’s worth noting that I did not pay for this review. I bought Oxygen with my own money, and these are my own results from utilizing the builder.

They loved it so much that they rebuilt it from the ground up, so there was no way to upgrade from version 1 to version 2. Nonetheless, Louis upgraded everyone who bought a license, which was a wonderful perk.
The upgrading path specifics were still unsatisfactory to the community. Not being able to upgrade was a major setback for any serious developer.
Fast forward to present, and Oxygen has grown into a healthy community with a great plugin.
I tell you this not to scare you, but to demonstrate that the corporation has been working on the plugin, albeit at a slower pace than usual. Oxygen is a more stable page builder than many others on the market.
So now that you’ve heard about my experiences with the tool, let’s take a closer look at how it works and why I appreciate it so much.

It doesn’t take long to realize that Louis is a WordPress master if you visit the Oxygen YouTube channel. It’s evident in his videos and the way Oxygen operates.
Unlike other page builders that sit on top of WordPress, Oxygen is the only one I’ve seen that directly interfaces with it, with the exception of Elementor.
Oxygen was created with WordPress code and loops in mind. They created Oxygen to manipulate the code, which is ideal for folks who are well-versed in PHP and CSS. For non-developers, this isn’t ideal.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I’ll hand over an Elementor site to a client so they can edit it. I’d never recommend Oxygen to a customer because the learning curve is far too steep for someone with little or no experience.
However, if a client only needs to add content or use the native WordPress back-end, Oxygen is a great choice. It includes a lot of wonderful built-in capabilities, like the ability to limit clients so they don’t destroy the website.
What 2.0 does well for Oxygen

Clean code is one thing that Oxygen has nailed. Louis made a video about it, and to be honest, it has terrified the rest of the market to the point where the question is frequently addressed on Facebook groups.
Oxygen’s code is simple and effective at making your website as light as feasible. Supa mike, a user on the Oxygen Forums, put Oxygen first to the test against other page builders and found it to be one of the fastest.
It’s also one of the best website builders for accessing the CSS and PHP code that governs a particular element. Other builders frequently hide this information and just allow you to update it through CSS changes, never allowing you to edit the code. Oxygen gives you complete access to the code and allows you to make modifications.

What needs to be improved in Oxygen 2.0
To compete in a market dominated by page builders such as Elementor or Brizy, Oxygen will have to compromise some of its values in order to bring new features to the builder. Today’s oxygen is fantastic, but as I already stated, I would never recommend it to someone who does not understand code.
Laying stuff out in Oxygen necessitates at least a basic understanding of CSS box models, floats, and other terminology you may not be familiar with. This can be frightening to non-tech savvy business executives looking for a solution that isn’t unduly complicated.
Oxygen also suffers from what I would refer to as shareability. You may export layouts, designs, and other parts of your website with Elementor, Divi, and even some other builders. At this time, oxygen does not permit this, thus you are unable to share your work.
Oxygen also lacks a number of essential features seen in other builders, such as section dividers, improved animations, and a form builder. They’ve made it clear that they don’t want to overburden the builder, but there comes a point where you have to measure convenience of use against what’s available.
If Elementor can accomplish it with a single click, I’m sorry to tell, but as a competitor, you have to think about it. People compare aspects as if they were comparing apples to apples, even though they aren’t comparing the same items.
People have also complained about the builder’s poor loading speed. I haven’t had this happen on shared hosting or locally, although I may be more patient than others.
Because Oxygen isn’t extensively utilized, small compatibility difficulties with other plugins are likely. SEOPress is a popular plugin that I use now, and while there is a workaround to make it work with Oxygen, it does not work out of the box.
Moving from one local host to another looks to be another area where work is being done. Reassigning shortcodes is a procedure that can be perplexing at first, but I found it to be painless.

Still, you can’t blame it all on him, but it often feels like you’re speaking into a blank when you write a ticket on Oxygen’s help site. They appear to have resolved the issue now, since a support person appears to be addressing questions. Although this is a significant benefit, I continue to dislike and distrust the help forums.
While Oxygen’s community isn’t bad, it pales in comparison to Elementor or Elegant themes, both of which have large communities. As a result, inquiries on social media networks go unaddressed, which might lead to a poor experience.
They never responded to my question regarding how to construct a WordPress button for previous and future posts. I was never able to find an answer to my inquiry, and the closest I came was a member’s response hidden behind a pay wall. That wouldn’t work for a question like this. I’ll admit that I’ve never contacted support, but I didn’t anticipate them to be particularly helpful.
Oxygen’s future is clear: it will only develop as a page builder, but how will that look? Backers are unsure what will happen because Soflyy has provided little information or even a tiny road map. Oxygen’s cost is another strong suit. Every other page builder charges an annual or monthly subscription. For the time being, Oxygen is available for a one-time fee of $99 for unlimited access. That’s sound logic for a developer who can recoup his investment by selling websites created for it. However, even for a business, this is advantageous because there is no license charge, which means you save money every year.
Know that the pricing is only available for a short period. While Louis has mentioned that it will go up on several occasions, and while there have been tiny price hikes, I believe that raising the price now would be the wrong approach. It would also likely stifle the community’s expansion.
Even with the threat of future price increases, no other page builder offers such a straightforward pricing mechanism. You can edit headers, footers, 404 pages, and all other pages for one low price. This may sound insignificant, but considering that most page builders require a prosubscription, which comes with a monthly fee, it’s a no-brainer when you realize that this is a lifetime license.
The one caveat is that when the price is ultimately dropped for good, we’ll have to see how competitive Oxygen’s pricing is. I believe Soflyy will keep the price low, as some of their other plugins are reasonably priced.
The Whole Picture of Oxygen
While I may have mentioned a few aspects about Oxygen that I dislike, this should not be construed as a critique. It’s there to help the product flourish, and I believe that competition drives market innovation.
Oxygen has done an excellent job of establishing itself as a leader in the WordPress page builder community. So much so that if Oxygen isn’t listed as a possible option in polls on Facebook pages, people will scream. This may not appear to be a big issue, but when you consider how many people are coming out in support of Oxygen, you can see how popular it is.
As I previously indicated, the one thing we as backers do not know is the future. Soflyy is hesitant to reveal what’s coming since he’s afraid that other builders may steal his idea or information. I can’t argue with this viewpoint because we’ve seen it with Elementor’s Finder and Divi’s fresh new search function, which is essentially a carbon copy with some new bells and whistles.
I feel that it is in the nature of the beast to create a program that is tailored to a specific individual. Oxygen handles this really well; it goes straight for the gut and asks, “Are you a developer from the beginning?” If you aren’t, tread carefully because Divi lacks the loving embrace of Elementor and the overwhelming amount of options that Elementor provides. No, Oxygen has just enough to pose a threat to other constructors.
Associated Issues
What is Oxygen’s most serious flaw? Beyond the plugin’s features, there is a lack of material and support. For new members who can’t seem to locate an answer, the lack of content and help can be an issue. There is no right method, and I don’t think Oxygen should keep pumping out videos, but questions that aren’t being answered might be addressed in blog entries or documentation to assist members. Especially if people are always asking inquiries.
