Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson Were Recently ‘Impressed’ by Their Newest Golden State Warriors Teammate

Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson were recently “impressed” by their newest Golden State Warriors teammate. This new teammate is none other than Klay’s brother Mychel Thompson. Who is Klay’s brother? He is Mychel Thompson, a talented baseball player who was drafted in the seventh round of the 2012 MLB Draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers, and currently plays for the Arizona League Dodgers.

Curry and Thompson are both superstars and two-way players, but what separates them is their size. Thompson is 6’7″ and Curry is 6’2″. That gives them a considerable height advantage over other forwards on the court. It also allows them to spot up on the perimeter from a few feet away.

The Golden State Warriors have been in a bit of a slump this season, and it looks like they’re trying to shake things up, as they’ve recently acquired a new point guard in former MVP Stephen Curry. In an interview with the New York Post, the pair were asked about their newest teammate, Andre Iguodala, and Curry spoke about how impressed he was with Iguodala as a person.

Many fans and analysts expected the Golden State Warriors to trade their two top-15 choices in the 2023 NBA Draft in exchange for a star or a pair of veterans to help Stephen Curry and his teammates compete for championships once again. Golden State, on the other hand, did not do so, instead using both of its selections to look toward the future while (maybe) still helping the present.

What about Curry, on the other hand? What does he think of his new teammates, despite the fact that they didn’t help him win the championship? At the very least, he’s “impressed” by one.

Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody were chosen by the Golden State Warriors.

The Golden State Warriors were the subject of a slew of speculations — and questions — leading up to the NBA Draft in 2023. Would they be willing to part with their two first-round picks? Would they include James Wiseman, the No. 2 selection from last year, in such trades? If that’s the case, who would they swap for? What’s up with Bradley Beal? Do you know who Damian Lillard is? Turner, Myles?

In the post-draft world, such queries suddenly appear ridiculous.

The Warriors eventually retained their choices, selecting Jonathan Kuminga of the G League Ignite at No. 7 and Moses Moody of Arkansas at No. 14.

According to The Athletic, Warriors owner Joe Lacob stated after the selection, “I’m thrilled.” “Ecstatic. It’s unlikely that we’ll ever get two lottery choices again. We’ll have an issue if we do. What amazes me the most is how it all came together. I know I shouldn’t disclose where they were on our board, but I can’t help myself. I’ll simply say that they were both in our top ten. On Kuminga, we feel like we struck it rich. Then there’s Moody. I believe it’s fairly well known that we were really contemplating him when he was seven years old. So it astounds me that we were able to acquire him at the age of 14.”

The front office of Golden State loves its new players, but what about the team’s stars?

It’s difficult to know for sure what Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and the rest of the Warriors’ teammates think of the team’s draft choices, particularly because they won’t assist them right now. However, according to a recent story, Moody “impressed” Curry and Thompson.

According to NBC Sports, Moody stated that both Curry and Thompson were there at one of his workouts and that he “talked to them a little bit afterwards.”

Curry and Thompson loved what they saw, according to Anthony Slater of The Athletic on 95.7 The Game.

According to NBC Sports, Slater stated on The Morning Roast, “And from what I heard, Klay and Steph were at the session that Moody was at, and they were wowed with him.”

Green is said to appreciate his team’s selections as well.

“I spoke to Draymond at 4 a.m. in Tokyo, at 5 a.m., 6 a.m.,” Warriors general manager Bob Myers said of Green, who is in Tokyo for the Olympics, according to NBC Sports. “After the third or fourth selection, he contacted me and said, ‘Kuminga.’ “Let’s check if he’s there,” I said. So he’s content. Then he said, “Moody,” about the eighth selection. And I told her, “I don’t believe he’ll be there.” And I didn’t even mention their names to him. As a result, he gave me a thumbs up. That’s excellent.”

The Warriors’ stars may be pleased with the prospects selected by their club. But how much will these two guys really help them win championships?

What role do Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody play for Stephen Curry and the Warriors?

The intriguing thing about Kuminga is that many people don’t think of him as someone who will immediately assist the Warriors. He has a lot of promise, but he may be more of a project that needs time to mature.

Last season, Kuminga, a 6-foot-6 wing, averaged 15.8 points and 7.2 rebounds in the G League.

Moody, on the other hand, may be able to assist Curry and his teammates in the near future, and some analysts believe he should have gone off the board in the top 10.

Moody, a 6-foot-6 winger who played high school basketball with No. 1 selection Cade Cunningham, is another 6-foot-6 winger. Last season, he averaged 16.8 points and 5.8 rebounds while shooting 35.8% from 3-point range for Arkansas. He was unquestionably one of the best players in the SEC.

Overall, the Warriors have two guys with a lot of promise, but the issue now is whether they can help them win now. Curry (33), Thompson (31) and Green (31) aren’t getting any younger, so their championship window will shut before we realize it.

If Golden State is unable to assist those players in competing for championships, we may witness a Last Dance-style separation between the organization and its stars.
